Beach Boys Legend Mike Love Joins The Golden Tiki Shrunken Head Collection
Last night, Legendary Beach Boy Mike Love joined the rare society of shrunken head honorees at Las Vegas’ world famous tiki bar The Golden Tiki, unveiling shrunken likenesses of himself and all the five original iconic Beach Boys.
Love also served shots and special cocktails made with Club Kokomo Rum, a spirits brand he co-founded.
“It’s a very interesting tradition, and I’m glad I escaped with the head I’ve had for eight decades,” quipped Love. As far as the cocktails, Love added “It turns out Good Vibrations is not just about sound, but also flavors, because there’s a lot of harmony in these.”
Among the throngs of fans and well-wishers for love were previous shrunken head recipients Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot), Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne) and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) – who brought along several of his Beach Boys vinyl LPs for Love to sign!
Mike Love joins a long list of celebrities who have had inaugural shrunken heads including U2, Sammy Hagar, Sebastian Bach, Brian Cranston, Aaron Paul, Pauly Shore, just to name a few.
