5 Ways Broke College Students Can Go to Las Vegas

It is easy to spend all your hard-earned funds in Las Vegas, but if you’re a college student, you likely don’t have money to spare. So how are you supposed to have any fun then?

You can plan your trip and stay within budget by following a few tips that will help you save money where you can and spend it in the areas that are most important to you.

Take Control of Your Finances with a Credit Card

A credit card is a great way to help you manage your budget on your own. A credit card can help you build credit, and you can put trip expenses on there to make them more affordable right now. If you are just getting your first credit card, it’s important to pick the right one, especially if you plan to use it for travel.

Consider Renting a Car

Taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service in Vegas is often quite expensive, and you may not be able to find one when you need one. It’s normal to walk around cities instead of taking taxis, but it is a hot area, and even though the clubs and casinos may appear to be close, they are spaced out quite a bit. You can take trams between some resorts, although it depends on the part of town you stay in. You can also take one of the many buses running through the city. If you are old enough, consider renting a car, especially when you are coming to your hotel from the airport.

Go to the Pinball Museum

There are many quirky things to do in Vegas, but the Pinball Hall of Fame allows you to see things up close. The museum has a couple of hundred games, both modern and vintage, and you can play some of them for a small fee. Depending on the time of day, you may get free parking as well, making it a great stop for college students on a budget.

Save on Food and Drinks

You can find some of the best food around Las Vegas, although it can also be expensive. One way you can save on food is by going to all-you-can-eat buffets. They might cost more than going out to dinner, but you can get enough food there to stay full for hours afterward.

Another way you can save on drinks at clubs and bars is by having your drinks when you are on the casino floor. If you are playing their games, they often offer drinks for free, so you can skip buying the more expensive ones at the club later.

How to Get into the Clubs

The Strip has some of the most famous clubs in the world, and many people feel getting in one of these is the best part of a Vegas trip. Unlike other areas, it can be easier to get into Vegas clubs if you are willing to wait in line long enough.

If it’s a guys’ trip, it may be harder to get in because clubs like keeping the ratio of girls to guys high. See if you can meet up with some girls to get in line with. Even if you must pay full price, it might be easier to get in. If it is a girls’ evening at the club, you will have an easier time than the guys.

See if there are any promoters with flyers for the club. They want to get the girls into their clubs, so you might be able to pick up a flyer that offers free entry.
