Guests arrive ‘sans pantaloons’ for the best party in Las Vegas, hands pants down
Last night the folks at Spiegelworld had many reasons to celebrate, and none of them involved pants. Toasting the 12th anniversary of the hit show ABSINTHE at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, opening a new speakeasy bar, launching a new burger brand and premiering a spectacular new acrobatic act, The Gazillionaire and Spiegelworld’s Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison barely had time to get dressed for the occasion. So why not call it a No Pants Party?
The first thing that guests noticed on arrival was the super-enhancement of the Green Fairy Garden, the outdoor cocktail terrace that surrounds ABSINTHE’s spiegeltent venue. Passing under the beautiful new wrought-iron entrance gate, guests were instantly transported to another world, canopied by the colorful boughs of the magnificent Absinthe Electric Oak.
To enjoy a drink before the show, there are now several shipping container cocktail bars, encased in shards of colored mirror. This is no ordinary pre-show bar experience with crowd-favorite cocktails including the Absinthe Hallucinator and Tickle Me Tipple (featuring JAJA Tequila).
Spiegelworld has also introduced a new elevated circus food offering at the Green Fairy Garden. NO PANTS is described as more than a fast-food brand. It’s an attitude to life. While it’s served in a midway outside a circus tent, the No Pants Burger is actually the best burger in Vegas according to many of the guests last night. Served between brioche buns, two short-rib blend patties, grilled onions, American cheese and dill pickles are topped off with an extremely secret sauce.
A side of deliciously crunchy and golden Star Tots is also available. For those who need a jolt, another counter sells a wide range of No Pants coffee options.
Before the show, VIP guests were ushered into the Pier 17 Yacht Club, the new speakeasy bar hidden inside the Green Fairy Garden. The bar acknowledges Spiegelworld’s origins when the first incarnation of ABSINTHE premiered in 2006 in a spiegeltent at the end of Pier 17, a neglected pier on the East River by the Brooklyn Bridge. Pier 17 Yacht Club has its own private indoor and outdoor lounge areas and a special menu with cocktails including Big Duke Energy, Tantric Turnbuckle and the Gazerac, and the exclusive appearance of Yacht Tots, adding French Trout Roe to the regular No Pants Star Tots, or for $100, the Super Yacht Tots with Oscietra Caviar.
“We have spent the past 12 months planning the enrichment of the Green Fairy Garden,” Ross Mollison said. “Absinthe has had several record-breaking weeks of ticket sales recently and these new offerings are a testament to our confidence that Las Vegas is back in full swing and ready to party.” In the nautical tradition, Spiegelworld Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison christened the Pier 17 Yacht Club by smashing a bottle of champagne across its bow.
Minutes before showtime, The Gazillionaire himself finally arrived at the Green Fairy Garden in style in his new golden Gaz Roller, a pimped-out Ghost model Rolls-Royce. Average citizens can also experience the very same luxury ride from their hotel to the ABSINTHE tent by purchasing the Gazillionaire’s Roller ticket package.
At 9pm, guests poured into the spiegeltent to witness The Gazillionaire host the show which has made him a global star. He was as sharp as ever, which is astonishing considering he has performed 365 nights a year for the past 12 years. The Gazillionaire also used last night’s special occasion to premiere a new seven-man acrobatic act. Titled It’s Ukrainian Men. Hallelujah!, the act features six Ukrainian acrobats and a Russian former sport-acrobatic World and European Champion. It is the largest-scale, most dangerous act ever performed in ABSINTHE’s 12-year history due to the incredible strength and precise skills required, and the fact that the acrobats form human towers to propel each other over the heads of the audience without any safety harnesses. It was literally raining men inside the tent.
After a rousing standing ovation at the end of the show, a 20-piece marching band and dancers, dressed ‘sans pantaloons’, led the audience out of the tent and back into the Green Fairy Garden for the official NO PANTS PARTY where cocktails flowed, a 12th birthday cake was cut, more burgers were consumed, and DJ Ana Calderon had guests dancing under the Absinthe Electric Oak until the early hours of the morning.
