College is a time for exploration, and for many students, that means learning about subjects they had never before encountered and taking intellectual journeys into a deeper understanding of themselves and their world.

But let’s get real. For most college students, exploration also involves some exciting road trips or vacations to popular tourist destinations, whether for spring break, summer break, or just a weekend away.

One of the most popular locations for college students to visit is Las Vegas and there are a lot of things to do there. Yes, Sin City is a great place for students to visit and one that dozens of tourism companies helpfully package with student-centric tours to help you get there fast and save money that you can spend gambling.

But whether you get to Las Vegas as part of a tour package or on your own steam, you may be wondering what you and your buddies can do in Vegas. In this article, we’ll take a look at a few of the best things to do when you are vacationing in Las Vegas.

What Should You Do in Vegas Being a College Student?

Here are a few suggestions regarding things to do in Vegas for college students:

Visit the famous Las Vegas Strip

Let’s face it. If you are traveling to Las Vegas, you’re there to gamble. So, your first destination is almost certainly going to be the Strip. The Las Vegas Strip is where you’ll find many of the world’s most famous casinos. Whether you are staying at one of the top casinos or a motel off the strip, you’ll want to check out the various themed casinos and all of the entertainment and gaming options they provide.

Walk outside on the strip

While most of the gaming action is inside the casinos, the Strip itself offers plenty of roadside entertainment, with everything from street performers to shopping to food to just plain people-watching. You’ll enjoy the fun of being on a bustling, busy thoroughfare with plenty to look at.

Visit a club

Las Vegas is well-known as the home of some of the best nightclubs in the world, with famous DJs and top-notch sound systems. If you enjoy dancing and partying back home at school, you’ll love the exciting club scene at venues like Omnia, XS, or Hakkasan. And since Las Vegas is full of tourists just like you, you’re bound to meet some interesting and exciting people at whichever club you visit.

Eat at world-class restaurants

In order to attract and retain visitors, casinos have invested heavily in creating amazing dining experiences. Las Vegas has hundreds of unique and delicious restaurants, including everything from celebrity chef-owned eateries from famous names like Gordon Ramsay to greasy-spoon late-night diners. College students can explore different cuisines and food experiences all in one place, with five-star experiences scaled for a tourist’s budget.

Take in a show

From the legendary performances of Elvis Presley in the 1960s to the residencies for contemporary artists like Adele today, Las Vegas is known for its incredible shows. You can see a Broadway-style musical, a performance by Cirque du Soleil, and world-class magicians like David Copperfield. College students can take in the shows at any of the many theaters on the Strip. And because Las Vegas wants to keep you on the move, many of these shows are edited for time so you can see the highlights and be on your way to the next activity quickly.

Visit museums and galleries

Many casinos have art galleries to give you something to do when you aren’t gambling, and there are even some museums that don’t have slot machines! Las Vegas has a large number of museums and galleries, from the Neon Museum to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. College students can get a good dose of art and culture during their visit by checking out the offerings in and around the casinos.

Relax by the pool

Sure, Las Vegas is in the middle of a desert, but that doesn’t mean that you will only find sand and tumbleweeds. In fact, Las Vegas has some of the best pools in the world, with many hotel pools offering elaborate water features and luxury cabanas. When you’re staying at one of the bigger hotels, you can soak up the sun and take a break from your studies by lounging poolside, but even small motels are likely to have some kind of pool for their guests.

Explore the great outdoors

If you’re willing to take a trip beyond the city limits, Las Vegas is surrounded by scenic natural beauty, some breathtaking landscapes, and even manmade wonders, including Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam. When you’re tired of gambling and fine dining, you can take time to explore the great outdoors on a hiking or sightseeing tour.

Wrapping Up about Things to Do in Las Vegas

Of course, Las Vegas can be a costly city to visit even when taking advantage of every student discount, so students need to plan carefully and budget accordingly to make the most of their trip without breaking the bank. One great way to plan ahead is to make sure your essays are taken care of before you leave so you don’t have to struggle when you get back. When you need help, you can always pay writers from a paper writing service like Write My Paper Hub to do essays for you. Taking upcoming papers off your plate by spending a small part of your vacation budget on essay help can empower you to enjoy your Las Vegas trip worry-free.
