StarBase announces its April programming, providing a variety of unique and lively events that anyone can enjoy.
The upcoming month will serve a wide range of entertainment, including One Helluva Friday, Starfire, Crafternoons, and Flight School. Additionally, this month will be the last chance for guests to indulge in vegan bites from The Edible Bunch as StarBase will host its final Plant-Based Sunday on April 24.
April 8 – One Helluva Friday
Hosted by Asia Jade on the second Friday of each month, the series of colorful programming aims to create meaningful conversation, encourage personal expression and provide a platform for the local artistic community to showcase their talent. The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. with a speaker series called “What the Hell Happened,” where singer/songwriter Kristine Mirelle will take the stage to talk about her failures and how it ultimately helped her succeed in the art industry. At 9 p.m., StarBase transitions to “Hella Expressions,” a curated open mic that gives local artists a safe space to share their music, comedy, poetry or other talents to a live audience. To conclude the evening, Yzzi hosts “Late Nights, Early Mornings,” a flow jam session at 11 p.m. What the Hell Happened Speaker Series and Hella Expressions are free with RSVP. “Late Night, Early Mornings” tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
April 15 – LaughterDARK Comedy Open Mic + The Gateway Show
On April 15 from 7-9 p.m., StarBase hosts its LaughterDARK comedy open mic with a cash prize for the funniest set. Following the open mic, Failed to Render Comedy presents The Gateway Show from 9-10:30 p.m., where stand-up comedians take to the stage their best jokes, even after consuming cannabis. Additionally, on top of the usual premise, this particular Gateway Show combines forces with the number one virtual reality comedy club in the world, Failed to Render Comedy, to bring the show into VR. LaughterDARK open mic is free with RSVP. The Gateway Show GA tickets are $20 online and $30 at the door; VIP seating tickets are $30 online and $40 at the door. Crafters are also welcome to bring their own projects and supplies to work on in a fun environment with fellow creatives. Tickets are $35 for each craft, with three options to choose from. Guests can create multiple crafts.
April 16 – Starfire
Experience Starfire, a monthly space-age nightclub featuring exotic performers, dancers, digital artwork, and immersive videos underneath the disco ball in support of the LGBTQ+ community and underground culture. The dance party aims to celebrate local queer artists and design the future of how we consume art, technology, and community simultaneously. Starfire takes place every third Saturday of each month starting at 9 p.m. Admission is complimentary with RSVP.

Your flight is waiting. On Friday, April 22 from 7-10 p.m., join StarBase in attending Flight School, an immersive tasting experience where guests can sample four Cabernets from around the world.
