When mom and entrepreneur Felicia Parker dove into the multi-billion-dollar gift basket industry four years ago, she did it because she loved the impact she could make on a person’s life with such a simple, thoughtful gesture.
That drive hasn’t changed today, but the scope of her work has. Her company, Any Occasion Baskets, now has four employees and her team creates thousands of gift baskets every year. It’s the season of giving.
Here, she shared a few thoughts on the perfect Thanksgiving basket
- Tip #1: Create a basket that captures the season; whether that be in the colors, food flavors, or smells with candles, potpourri, etc.
- Tip #2: Use a basket or tray that can be reused for thanksgiving dinner or everyday use.
- Tip #3: Snacks and drinks are great to add because the recipient can snack while preparing thanksgiving dinner or put out for guests to snack on.
- Tip #4: Try to incorporate something personal and meaningful. It can be a favorite snack, wine, or a favor color. Personal gifts are always a great way to show you care.
And finally, Parker also says that less is more with gift baskets. A basket with too many items can look messy and cluttered. Parker suggests narrowing it down to a few key items that resonate with the person, instead.
“The most important thing is to look at it through the eyes of the client and the person receiving this as much as you possibly can. It’s never really about how I may see it.”
