Nevadans are encouraged to step forward and combat hate alongside ADL on Sept. 29
On Sunday, Sept. 29, hundreds of individuals from all walks of life will gather to ‘Fight Hate for Good’ and walk in ADL’s annual Walk Against Hate at the Las Vegas Ballpark (1650 S. Pavilion Center Drive).
For seven years, the annual event has brought together families, friends, colleagues, teammates, community groups, students, educators, politicians and corporations, among others, to speak out and mobilize against bias and bigotry of all kinds.
“This event speaks volumes – it’s about how we come together as a community to show that no hate is acceptable,” said Jolie Brislin, Regional Director of ADL Desert Region. “It’s essential that we take these steps together – while symbolic, it’s one million steps for diversity and for support of each other.”
Proceeds from the walk benefit a variety of ADL’s initiatives, including establishing coalitions of respect, ADL’s work with law enforcement, and its award-winning No Place for Hate program in K-12 schools throughout Nevada, which are increasingly needed as antisemitism, racism and bigotry are on the rise.
Individuals from all walks of life are invited to participate in the Walk Against Hate whether they choose to walk, roll or dance their way through the ballpark. All participants must register in advance:
- Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for check-in and walk-in registration. Program commences at 10 a.m.
- Set up a team by inviting family, friends and community members to join in person.
- Share your journey on social media with #WalkAgainstHate.
Highlighted speakers for the upcoming ADL Walk Against Hate will be announced soon. A variety of businesses and networks have already stepped up to join the fight against hate, with local sponsors including Wynn Las Vegas, Caesars Entertainment, John C. Kish Foundation, Station Casinos, Wells Fargo and Rockstar, among others.
ADL’s Walk Against Hate is a national event engaging more than 5,000 fundraisers and reaching more than 100,000 participants. For more information or to register, visit WalkAgainstHate.org/LVWalkAgainstHate.
