World’s Largest Sportsbook Welcomed Guests to an All-American Themed Event Featuring a First Pitch Thrown by Maddux, Cocktails Made by Thomas, American Coney Island Coney Dogs, Apple Pie, Free Drinks for Moms and More
Take Me Out to Vegas – it’s the start of the baseball season! Today, baseball legends Frank Thomas and Greg Maddux came together at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas to celebrate opening day. Taking over the world’s largest sportsbook, Maddux threw a ceremonial first pitch to former professional baseball catcher Cody Clark, while Thomas served up rounds of his new vodka, FT35, to fans at Circa’s Mega Bar.
The Las Vegas casino resort hosted an all-American baseball celebration with its second annual “Take Me Out to Vegas” experience. The day featured the first games of the professional baseball season, showcased on sportsbook’s massive 78-million-pixel screen; coney dogs from American Coney Island; stadium-style beer hawkers; free drinks for moms; complimentary homemade apple pie; and fundraising opportunities for the Baller Dream Celebrity Poker Tournament, which Maddux will host at Circa April 27-28.
Maddux had an impressive professional baseball career and is considered to be one of the best pitchers of all time.
He threw the first pitch in honor of the Baller Dream Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing community programming and financial support for young cancer warriors and their families.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate America’s favorite pastime at the world’s largest sportsbook,” said Maddux. “I’m looking forward to returning to Circa at the end of April to support the Baller Dream Foundation and take part in its Celebrity Poker Tournament. We appreciate Circa’s partnership in helping us raise needed funds for the young children and adults who are facing hardship and cancer diagnosis.”
Maddux will return for the second annual Baller Dream Celebrity Poker Tournament, taking place at the resort’s 60th floor cocktail lounge Legacy Club. Celebrity guests include Las Vegas hockey player Deryk Engelland, baseball all-star Jose Canseco, mixed martial artist Tito Ortiz and more.
The two-day festivities include a celebrity feud-style game show dinner party and the official poker tournament at Circa’s rooftop lounge, Legacy Club. All funds raised will stay local to Las Vegas and help Baller Dream Foundation provide community programming where cancer warriors feel supported and celebrated.
The proceeds also will provide financial support to families experiencing cancer diagnosis. Last year’s event raised over $200,000. Tickets can be purchased here.
