Stoney’s Rockin’ Country Announces Live Country Music Lineup for May
Honey Country

Stoney’s Rockin’ Country announces the live music lineup for May including several fundraisers for local performers as follows:

Kameron Marlowe – Fri., April 30 & Sat., May 1, 9:30 p.m.

Marlowe found success with his independent debut release, “Giving You Up” – a heartbreak anthem that has topped more than 50 million streams and counting. It’s the first song Marlowe finished writing and it came with a personal price. The singer was 20 years old and planning to propose when his would-be fiancée dumped him for someone else. Born in the small town of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Kameron sold car parts at General Motors for a living before he got a call that changed his life forever. A recruiter from NBC’s “The Voice” found performance videos of Marlowe on YouTube and reached out with an offer to take him straight to the series’ live auditions. The offer was too good to pass up, and while he didn’t win, it propelled him into the next level of his career as a singer/songwriter.

All Aspects Radio Network Fundraiser for The Composer’s Showcase – Wed., May 5, 5 p.m.

Featuring Carpenters tribute artists Sally Olson and Ned Mills, Rod Stewart tribute artist John Anthony, Luke Bryan tribute artist Chad Collins and many more, hosted by Robbie Howard.

Honey County with Kalie Shorr – Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, 8:30 p.m.

Honey County

Formed in Los Angeles, the band also has roots in the Bible Belt (where founding member Rose sang her first songs as a Virginia native) and Texas (where Lynn fell in love with country music while studying nursing at Baylor University). That diversity is reflected in Honey County’s music, a blend of contemporary country and timeless pop/rock that makes room for Nashville twang, West Coast harmonies and everything in between. You won’t be able to find Honey County on a map — instead, Rose and Lynn create their own musical landscape: a place where the songs are anthemic, the harmonies are soaring, and two empowered women run the show.

Kalie Shorr

According to the New York Times, Kalie Shorr’s debut album – Open Book – was the #7 Best Album of 2019 alongside Taylor Swift, Lana Del Ray and Ariana Grande. Along with a long list of other accolades, Variety called Open Book “2019’s best freshman country effort,” and Stereogum said “country music needs this kind of fire.” Shorr burst onto the Nashville music scene in 2016 with her self-penned hit “Fight Like A Girl” and shortly after, the Portland, Maine singer-songwriter became a SiriusXM “Highway Find” and was spotlighted by Apple Music, Spotify, CMT, Radio Disney Country, Pandora, Taste of Country, The Boot and Billboard magazine. She was named a “CMT Next Women of Country,” “The New Nashville” by Teen Vogue and a “Top 10 Country Artists To Watch In 2018” by the Huffington Post. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018 and has gone on to play that heralded stage 18 times so far. From her work with the all-female, singer-songwriter collective Song Suffragettes, Shorr has been featured on PBS NewsHour, NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “On Point” as well as in ELLE Magazine.

Jägertown – Friday, May 14, 9 p.m.

Line ‘em up, shoot ‘em down. There’s a party going on in Jägertown” – are the opening lyrics of “Jägertown,” self-titled first album and the title track released over thirteen years ago. This lyric has become synonymous with the band as their popularity grew.  Described as a mix of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Alabama, Jägertown energizes crowds with their fresh, rockn’ country sound at festivals across the country.

Save Our Arts Foundation presents Welcome Back Vegas – Saturday, May 22, 4 p.m.

Featuring performances by Jacob Reuter, Jason King, Kendra Daniels, Megan & Jesse Caloca, Baldo Bobadilla, Sean Cooper, Penni Tovey, Orissa Kelly and more, co-hosted by Jennifer Romas, Marty B. and Sean Cooper with a special appearance by Randy Couture.
